# Scale (/strategies/scale)

Scale places limit orders across a price range. Choose the total size and 2-100 levels. Prices are evenly spaced and rounded to valid ticks; sizes are distributed in whole lots without exceeding the total.

```bash
mlab strategy run scale BTC --venue bulkf --testnet \
  --side buy --size 0.01 --start-price 78000 \
  --end-price 80000 --levels 5 --duration 900 --dry-run
```

Prices here are examples. Preview first; replace `--dry-run` with `--yes` to start.

* `--start-price` is the lower bound; `--end-price` is the upper bound, for both buys and sells.
* The preview shows every child price and size. Each child must meet the market's minimum size and notional.
* The ladder is submitted at the start, not spread across the duration. Buy levels are submitted from high to low; sell levels from low to high.
* Orders use GTC and can fill immediately if they cross the market.
* `--duration` limits how long the ladder stays active. At the deadline or on stop, the strategy attempts to cancel its remaining orders.

Use `--margin` instead of `--size` for margin-based sizing. In Furge, choose **Scale**, preview the ladder, and confirm. See [job commands](/strategies#jobs) to inspect or stop a CLI job.
